Expectations to Eliminate Blind Spots in COVID-19 Vaccination in Island Regions

For this 4th vaccination, 6,965 people, accounting for 23.2% of the total population of Jindo County, have completed the vaccination, which significantly exceeds the Jeollanam-do average vaccination rate of 14.7%.

Since last year, the Jindo County Public Health Center has gained high trust through rapid response to COVID-19 vaccinations by operating a vaccination center, providing transportation convenience for residents, thorough and safe vaccine management, and managing the vaccination environment at commissioned medical institutions within the county.

Additionally, for this 4th vaccination, they have received great praise from residents by conducting visit vaccinations in close cooperation with Jodo-myeon and six health clinics to serve residents of island areas lacking vaccination facilities.

This visit vaccination was carried out through thorough preparation, including detailed pre-examination, observation of adverse reactions at the vaccination site, and a two-week adverse reaction management manual, similar to the public health center visit vaccinations, to ensure safe and effective vaccination according to vaccination implementation standards.

Residents of island areas who completed vaccination through visit vaccinations expressed their gratitude, saying, "We wanted to get vaccinated but couldn't due to poor transportation. Thanks to the visit vaccination, we were able to get vaccinated, and we are truly thankful to the officials."

A representative of the Jindo County Public Health Center stated, "Since high-risk groups aged 60 and over can experience severe conditions and even death if infected with COVID-19, additional vaccinations are absolutely necessary," and added, "We also recommend the 4th vaccination for previously confirmed patients to prevent the occurrence of variant viruses and the risk of reinfection."
