[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] A 24-story, 260-unit residential-commercial complex will be built 100 meters in front of Mia Station on Subway Line 4.
On the 17th, Seoul City announced that at the 12th Architecture Committee meeting held on the 14th, the architectural review for the residential-commercial complex near Mia Station in 194-2 Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, was approved. Construction permits will be obtained in the second half of this year, and completion is expected in 2026.
With this approval, a residential-commercial complex with a total floor area of 51,672㎡ and 5 basement floors to 24 above-ground floors will be constructed. It will consist of a total of 260 units, including 34 public housing units. The exclusive area will range from 49 to 84㎡. Additionally, neighborhood living facilities, a hub-type Kiwoom Center, and a youth culture center will be developed together.
The low-rise section from basement level 1 to the 3rd floor will house non-residential facilities such as neighborhood living facilities, and the front of the building will be planned as a small park-type open space accessible to all local residents for rest. Activation of the street linked with urban campuses such as Sungshin Women’s University and Seoul Cyber University will also be promoted.
In particular, on the 3rd floor above ground, a hub-type Kiwoom Center will be placed, which will be separately designed by Seoul City’s public architects. On the 2nd floor, a youth culture center will be established to serve as a specialized facility for local youth.
Kim Seongbo, Director of Seoul City’s Housing Policy Office, said, "We will continue to supply high-quality housing through the city’s Architecture Committee reviews and implement housing policies where all citizens coexist through active public housing social mix (Eouldanji)."
