Internet Promotion Agency to Hold 'Overseas Personal Information Protection Law Consultation Seminar' on the 20th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Personal Information Protection Commission will hold the '2022 Overseas Personal Information Protection Law Consultation Briefing' online on the 20th for domestic companies entering major overseas markets such as the EU and the United States.

This is a new project that integrates and reorganizes the existing overseas personal information protection law response consulting and on-demand legal consultations, providing services in the form of professional and general consultations through specialized law firms starting from June 20.

Professional consultations support the review and drafting of personal information protection-related legal documents for small and medium-sized enterprises (a total of 30 companies) entering major markets such as the EU, the United States, China, and Japan. General consultations provide advice on personal information protection laws in a total of 16 countries, including Germany, Australia, and Vietnam, in addition to the four countries above, and are available to all domestic companies.

At this briefing, there will be an introduction to the legal consultation support project, guidance on the consultation application procedures and methods, the publication of the 2021 Overseas Personal Information Protection Law Consultation Casebook, and an introduction to key cases.

Applications for the briefing will be accepted until the 19th.
