[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Korea Federation of SMEs requested, "Please work hard to normalize logistics," regarding the Cargo Solidarity's decision to reach an agreement with the government and end the strike.
On the 15th, the Federation issued a statement signed by Economic Headquarters Director Choo Kwang-ho, saying, "We consider it fortunate that the Cargo Solidarity has withdrawn its collective refusal to transport and decided to return to the transportation sites. However, this collective refusal to transport prioritized collective action over sufficient dialogue and discussion about the Safe Freight Rate System, which is procedurally undesirable."
They added, "Moreover, the transportation refusal occurred amid growing domestic and international uncertainties such as global supply chain instability and rising raw material prices, paralyzing the national logistics system and posing a serious threat across the entire industrial sector. Going forward, we must resolve the difficulties facing our economy together through reasonable dialogue and cooperation."
Furthermore, they stated, "Now, more than ever, the domestic and international economic situation is difficult, and all citizens must unite to overcome the crisis," and requested, "Now that the Cargo Solidarity has withdrawn its collective refusal to transport, we hope they will promptly return to the field and work even harder to normalize logistics."
