Yeongju City announced on the 15th that it will conduct an inspection of ambulance operation status to ensure safe ambulance operation and improve emergency patient transport services until the 17th.
The inspection targets are 13 ambulances operating within Yeongju City, including 11 from medical institutions and 2 from public health centers.
According to the Emergency Medical Services Act, ambulances can only be used for designated purposes such as transporting emergency patients, carrying blood for emergency medical care, transporting diagnostic test subjects and medical equipment, and transporting emergency medical personnel for emergency medical care. They must be equipped with medical devices and emergency medicines to provide emergency treatment to patients.
The inspection items include, according to the law, △whether the registration certificate and transport treatment fee schedule are attached △whether the ambulance is equipped with medical devices and emergency medicines △confirmation of cases suspected of unaccompanied emergency medical technicians or qualification lending △whether operation logs, dispatch, and treatment records are kept.
Yeongju City plans to immediately correct minor violations on site and take follow-up measures such as administrative actions against institutions found to be in violation, in accordance with laws and regulations, to ensure the health rights of citizens including emergency patients.
Kim Munsu, Director of the Health Business Division, said, “Through continuous inspection and management of ambulances, which are emergency rooms on the road, we will ensure that citizens can receive prompt and appropriate emergency medical services in emergency situations.”
