[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] The recent status of comedian Kim Daebum, who was once popular for his 'Mabbaki' segment, has been revealed.

On the 13th, a video titled "[Meeting Kim Daebum] Entire fortune vanished, disappeared due to severe atopic dermatitis... The current status of the Gag Concert legend comedian" was posted on the YouTube channel Geunhwang Olympics.

On that day, Kim Daebum recalled his popularity, saying, "After Mabbaki, unbelievable things happened. On Children's Day, I took a plane for the first time and did an event while receiving an IV drip. I traveled all over the country, and at my peak, I earned 50 million won a day. At that time, the event fee was 5 million won."

However, he said, "One day, I developed a disease called atopic dermatitis. I started to harm myself by scratching. When I woke up the next day, my face was completely red, and my nails were covered in blood. It was severe. My whole body was burning, and I couldn't even walk."

He continued, "I tried all kinds of medicine, but nothing worked, and I suffered severely for about two years. I went back to my hometown, set up a tent in the mountains with clean air, and lived there. I lived a very difficult reclusive life," he confessed.

After resting for two years, Kim Daebum said he struggled as things did not go well afterward. He revealed, "I did all sorts of jobs. I even worked as a tout. I lived at the bottom a lot. I did manual labor, odd jobs, and street vending around Sinchon. The money I earned from Mabbaki was lost due to delisting. I lost almost everything."

Meanwhile, Kim Daebum debuted as a KBS 19th public recruitment comedian in 2004 and gained popularity with the 'Golmokdaejang Mabbaki' segment on KBS 2TV's 'Gag Concert.' In 2006, he won the Male Excellence Award in the comedy category at the KBS Entertainment Awards.
