[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 14th that it will hold the "Sweet and Bitter Seoul Youngtech Counseling Review Event" starting from the 17th to establish the Seoul Youngtech project as a youth-tailored financial counseling service.

This event is divided into two parts: the monthly "For those who challenge, monthly beverage coupon" and the odd-month (July, September, November) "Compete with sincerity and sense!" The monthly event selects 30 people by random draw to receive a beverage coupon worth 5,000 KRW, and in the odd months (July, September, November), outstanding reviews are selected from accumulated submissions, with 1st place receiving a cultural gift certificate worth 200,000 KRW, 2nd place 50,000 KRW, and 3rd place 30,000 KRW.

To participate, after completing the Seoul Youngtech counseling, submit a review of the counseling using your own SNS along with your name, phone number, and the link address to the Seoul Youngtech Secretariat’s official email. If you do not have your own SNS, you can write freely and submit it via email.

Meanwhile, Seoul Youngtech is a project where professional financial planners provide free one-on-one face-to-face and non-face-to-face financial counseling and financial education linked with practical training to help youth systematically build assets and achieve economic independence. It is a representative youth pledge project.

Currently, about 6,000 people have applied, with 1,112 on the waiting list. Satisfaction survey results show a satisfaction score of 4.78 and counselor satisfaction of 4.87 (based on 1,525 respondents). Starting from the 20th, the "Seoul Youngtech Counseling Space" will open at Citizen Hall, allowing nearby young office workers to receive financial counseling during lunch breaks. Additionally, to improve application convenience, blockchain technology has been introduced, enabling "document-free" Seoul Youngtech counseling applications with consent to provide personal information.

Meanwhile, the practical training-linked education program "Seoul Youngtech One-Day School" has been held three times including pilot operation until May, recruiting 20 people per session, with 46 youths attending in total. Applications for the July sessions will be accepted starting July 2, with two sessions available for first-come, first-served registration via Google URL application form or QR code at the bottom of the poster.

Kim Cheol-hee, Director of the Future Youth Planning Group, said, "Listening to youths who have received financial counseling, at first it feels like an examination of their past and present, but after receiving it, it feels like not just financial counseling but life counseling," adding, "We will strive to maximize the good aspects and improve the points that need supplementation so that it can be established as a representative youth project."
