Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology and FST are taking a group commemorative photo after signing an industry-academic cooperation agreement for customized education and mutual cooperation in the semiconductor field.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dong-Eui Institute of Technology signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement on the 9th at the university main building to collaborate with FST in customized education and mutual cooperation in the semiconductor field.
Through the agreement, the university and the company will cooperate to cultivate talent tailored to the demands of the semiconductor sector.
Starting from the 2023 academic year, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology will establish a Semiconductor Department to train specialized professionals in the semiconductor field.
The department has a recruitment quota of 30 students, and practical education focusing on semiconductor manufacturing processes, circuit design, and semiconductor equipment operation will be provided.
At the agreement ceremony on the 9th, 10 representatives from both institutions attended, including Dong-Eui Institute of Technology President Kim Young-do, Dean of Academic Affairs Kim Dae-kyung, Semiconductor Department Professors Lee Sang-hak and Jang Moon-seok, FST Executive Director Yoo Byung-chul, and HR Team member Kang Byung-cheon.
Founded in 1987, FST is a semiconductor equipment and materials specialist company that uniquely produces Pellicle, a protective film material for semiconductor/FPD photomasks, and Chiller, which controls temperature and humidity in semiconductor process chambers, domestically.
Through the agreement, the two institutions will jointly operate a customized education program linked to recruitment to cultivate excellent talent that meets industry demands.
Students who successfully complete the education program will receive preferential hiring benefits when applying for employment at the respective company.
The two institutions also plan to actively cooperate in establishing field-based learning spaces, jointly utilizing equipment, supporting university field visits, and providing on-site training.
Following the agreement ceremony, interviews for new hires were conducted.
Professor Jang Moon-seok stated, “The two institutions will do their best to produce excellent professionals for semiconductor production and equipment maintenance through cooperation.”
