[Exclusive] 'D.P.' Actor Jo Hyun-chul Becomes FA... Exclusive Contract with Former Agency Expired

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Actor Jo Hyuncheol is ending his 8-year relationship with his agency, PrainTPC.


According to Asia Economy's report on the 13th, Jo Hyuncheol's exclusive contract with PrainTPC expired on the 11th. It has been confirmed that he is not considering renewal at this time.


Jo Hyuncheol has been affiliated with PrainTPC since 2015. He gained public attention for his distinctive acting in numerous works such as the films "Mal-Moi," "Master," "Chinatown," and the dramas "D.P.," "Hotel Del Luna," "Memories of the Alhambra," and "Argon."


Earlier, on May 6th, at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards, Jo Hyuncheol won the Best Supporting Actor award in the TV category for the Netflix original "D.P.," which centers on the Army Military Police. His heartfelt remarks about his father, who is battling illness, and his direct mention of the late Sergeant Byeon Heesoo drew significant attention.


Recently, following the passing of his father, Jo Hyuncheol donated condolence money to the Center for Military Human Rights on the 9th. His father was Professor Emeritus Jo Jungrae of the Department of Transportation Engineering at Myongji University. After his father's funeral, while looking for an organization to donate condolence money to, Jo Hyuncheol recalled the late Sergeant Byeon Heesoo and decided to donate to the Center for Military Human Rights.


Jo Hyuncheol is also active as a director, having been recognized for his directing skills through films such as "Scoliosis" and "Dempsey Roll: Confession."


Meanwhile, Jo Hyuncheol, who is active in various fields including acting and directing, is preparing for a screen comeback with the film "Don't Touch Dirty Money."
