Park Hee-young, Yongsan District Mayor-elect, Inaugurates Transition Committee


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The transition committee for the 8th term Seoul Yongsan District Mayor (hereinafter referred to as the transition committee) officially launched on the 10th.

Park Hee-young, the elected Yongsan District Mayor, handed appointment letters to 15 transition committee members at the transition committee office on the day and then held a plaque ceremony. The launch ceremony lasted for one hour with about 50 attendees including transition committee members, advisory committee members, and related public officials.

Shin Pyeong, a former judge and legal scholar, was appointed as the chairperson of the transition committee, and Lee Jong-du, a former Grade 4 administrative official with many years of experience as a public servant, was appointed as the vice-chairperson.

For the four subcommittee chairpersons, Yoo Hyuk, a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Korea University (Administration, Finance, Economy), Lee Ji-yeon, a professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Korea National University of Education (Education, Welfare, Culture), Lee Myung-hoon, dean of the Graduate School of Urban Studies at Hanyang University (Urban, Safety, Construction), and Go Jin-suk, a member of the Yongsan District Council (Health, Affiliated Organizations) were respectively appointed.

Mayor-elect Park Hee-young said, "Taking the relocation of the presidential office as an opportunity, Yongsan will become an international premium city and a new economic axis," and added, "I believe the transition committee will create a comprehensive development strategy and serve as a catalyst for the premium city Yongsan."
