A Gathering of Harmony After 3 Years... Gijang-gun Hosts 'Gijang Open Concert'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Gijang-gun will hold the ‘2022 Gijang Open Concert’ returning with the slogan ‘Spread your WinG - Unfolding the Wings of Gijang’ over two days on the 11th and 12th.

On the 11th, the event will be held at Jungang Park in Jeonggwan-eup, and on the 12th, it will take place from 6 p.m. at the site planned for Ilgwang High School.

The ‘2022 Gijang Open Concert’ will be held not only in Jeonggwan-eup but also in Ilgwang-eup to commemorate the promotion of Ilgwang-myeon to ‘eup’ status and to heal the hearts of residents exhausted by COVID-19.

The ‘Gijang Open Concert’ has annually provided Gijang residents with opportunities to enjoy culture and a venue for harmony with different themes each year, but it was canceled for two consecutive years due to the impact of COVID-19.

Since this music concert is being held for the first time in three years, Gijang-gun has prepared a variety of attractions.

There will be congratulatory performances by local art groups and appearances by popular singers from various genres such as ballad, trot, hip-hop, and bands.

On the 11th in Jeonggwan, the Jeonggwan Boys and Girls Choir, Lee Soo-young, Park Hyun-bin, Kisum, and Crying Nut will appear, and on the 12th in Ilgwang, the Gijang Symphony Orchestra, Bobby Kim, Kim Da-hyun, Jus2dis, and No Brain will perform.

A Gijang-gun official said, “In addition to music performances of various genres, videos celebrating the promotion of Ilgwang-eup and messages of overcoming COVID-19 will be broadcast to give residents beautiful memories,” adding, “We hope that residents exhausted by COVID-19 can unfold their wings that have been folded at the event.”

He added, “Since a large crowd is expected, we will do our best to ensure that visitors can enjoy the event safely by adhering to basic quarantine rules.”
