Korean Air to Resume Long-Haul Tourist Routes from July... "After 2 Years and 4 Months"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korean Air announced on the 9th that it will sequentially resume operations on major long-haul tourist routes starting in July in line with the recovery of overseas travel demand.

The routes to be resumed are ▲Incheon~Las Vegas ▲Incheon~Milano ▲Incheon~Vienna. The Incheon~Las Vegas route will resume from July 10. It will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using the A330-200 aircraft. The flight departs Incheon Airport at 2:10 PM and arrives at Las Vegas Airport at 10:10 AM. The return flight departs Las Vegas Airport at 12:10 PM and arrives at Incheon Airport at 5:40 PM the next day.

Milano, known as Italy's second largest city, will also operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays starting July 1. The flight departs Incheon Airport at 1:40 PM and arrives at Milano Airport at 7:55 PM. The return flight departs Milano Airport at 10:00 PM and arrives at Incheon Airport at 4:15 PM the next day.

Vienna, the capital of Austria and a city of music, will resume operations three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays starting July 1. The flight departs Incheon Airport at 11:00 AM and arrives at Vienna Airport at 5:10 PM. The return flight departs Vienna Airport at 6:40 PM and arrives at Incheon Airport at 12:50 PM the next day.

With the resumption of these three Korean Air routes, travel to nearby regions is expected to become much easier. In particular, Las Vegas is only about a three-hour drive from the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Additionally, Milano offers easy land access to Switzerland, and Vienna allows for connected tourism to nearby countries such as the Czech Republic and Croatia.

Korean Air will also launch a bonus ticket promotion to celebrate the resumption of these routes in July. Promotion details will be available on the Korean Air website and mobile app on the 16th.

When booking economy class bonus tickets on the Incheon~Las Vegas, Incheon~Milano, and Incheon~Vienna routes, customers will receive a discount of 2,500 miles for one-way and 5,000 miles for round-trip tickets. Furthermore, if the fuel surcharge and taxes for bonus tickets are paid with a Korean Air card, an additional mileage accrual of 1 mile per 1,000 KRW spent is possible. This applies to customers who complete the purchase of economy class bonus tickets between July 16 and September 10. Boarding must occur between the resumption date of each route and September 30.

Meanwhile, Korean Air plans to sequentially review the resumption of suspended routes considering the recovery trend of overseas travel demand following the COVID-19 endemic.
