[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Dongwon Dear Food announced on the 9th that it has launched ‘Yukbaekjeom,’ a direct-to-consumer (D2C) fresh meat brand that minimizes intermediate distribution stages.
Yukbaekjeom is a fresh meat brand that handles a variety of meats from domestic Korean beef (Hanwoo) and pork (Handon) to meats from various origins such as the United States and Australia, based on the slogan “Meet the diverse meats of the world.” It offers reasonable prices through a D2C distribution structure by selling high-quality meat carefully selected directly from farms nationwide by livestock experts without intermediate distribution channels, via its own online food malls ‘Dongwon Mall’ and ‘The Banchan&.’
Yukbaekjeom directly manages all distribution stages by utilizing its own meat processing plants and nationwide distribution networks owned by the meat division under Dongwon Home Food, a subsidiary of Dongwon Group. Through this, Dongwon Dear Food has been able to reduce costs by minimizing intermediate distribution stages while providing fresher quality meat.
The Hanwoo and Handon handled by Yukbaekjeom follow the principle of “same-day production, same-day shipping,” preparing shipments immediately upon customer orders. Imported meat arrives in Korea via air transport equipped with micro-temperature control technology that maintains a constant temperature to preserve freshness. Additionally, a dawn direct delivery service is operated for some metropolitan areas, delivering products between 10 PM on the order day and 7 AM the next day to provide fresh meat.
To commemorate the launch of Yukbaekjeom, Dongwon Dear Food is holding various events. On Dongwon Mall’s own live commerce channel ‘D Live,’ the meat specialist YouTuber ‘Jeongyukwang’ will offer up to 40% discounts on various fresh meats starting at 8 PM that evening. Furthermore, about 10 popular items including Hanwoo, Handon, and Australian MB5 grade beef with rich marbling will be sold at discounts of up to 39% until the 30th of this month.
A Dongwon Dear Food representative said, “As consumer prices have recently soared, the distribution industry is trending toward minimizing intermediate distribution stages to lower distribution costs,” adding, “We will provide a variety of fresh meats from around the world at reasonable prices.”
