The festival, which features various art genres such as theater, dance, music, Korean traditional music, musicals, and mime, has established itself as a place for new creative activities and experimental space, now marking its 16th edition.

This year, under the theme 'Facing Everyday Life,' the festival is held with the purpose of enjoying and healing culture and arts with citizens after the long tunnel of COVID-19.

To make up for the regret of presenting performances non-face-to-face for the past two years due to social distancing, a more diverse stage has been prepared, and efforts have been made to enhance the quality of performances. Anyone visiting Marronnier Park during the period can enjoy the diverse and interesting street performances held here for free.

On the first day of the festival, the 10th, the percussion group Boom Boom will start with 'Wings: My Stopped Everyday Life Dreams Again,' followed by co-productions such as ▲Theater Company Momjit's Gut 'Flowers in the Flower Garden' ▲Theater Company Soulmate's 'Paired Comrade,' and invited performances including ▲Obang's 'Bukcheong Lion Play' △Waltz Magic's 'The Postman' ▲Wheelers' 'Mission to Become an Astronaut.'

You can borrow parenting books you are interested in while dropping off your child at daycare, and read new books placed on shelves while waiting for laundry to finish at a nearby laundromat.

This is a scene seen at 'Here and There Neighborhood Bookstores,' set up in various alley shops and daycare centers in Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il).

'Here and There Neighborhood Bookstores' started in 2020 in Yangpyeong-dong to alleviate the difficulties of small business owners due to COVID-19 and the residents' thirst for leisure culture.

The project aims to create a cultural village where residents and local merchants communicate through books by placing recommended books matching each store's theme outside libraries, making it easy to access books anywhere.

Last year, the residents' consensus on this purpose led to its proposal and selection as a '2022 Cooperative Governance Project,' and a working group consisting of local residents, the district office, and the Yeongdeungpo-gu Cooperative Governance Council is promoting the activation of 'Here and There Neighborhood Bookstores.'

As a result, the neighborhood bookstores that started in Yangpyeong-dong have expanded to Mullae-dong and Daerim-dong this year, with a total of 21 locations currently operating.

Participating stores and daycare centers select and display three new books every two months according to the characteristics of their spaces until September. Residents can freely borrow books at neighborhood bookstores near their homes without going far. Book borrowing and returning are autonomously operated using QR codes.

By accessing the Yeongdeungpo Resident Cooperative Governance Online Education Site and the official Cooperative Governance Yeongdeungpo blog, which reopened after renovation in May, you can find detailed information about 'Here and There Neighborhood Bookstores,' including each bookstore's location and real-time book rental status.

During the bookstore operation period, various events such as ▲One-line Book Review Award ▲Neighborhood Bookstore Reading King will be held to attract more residents' interest and participation.

Chae Hyun-il, mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, "I hope the neighborhood bookstores close to our daily lives will help the community coexist and spread a culture of reading and enjoying books together," adding, "We will continue to strive to implement policies needed in the region based on communication and cooperation between residents and administration to make a better Yeongdeungpo."

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will hold the '12th Lovely Our Child Photo Exhibition' and 'Durumoah Flea Market' on the 10th and 11th.

These events are organized to spread a culture of childcare support in the region and foster a consensus on childcare. The venues are the Jungnang-gu Office Lawn Square and in front of the waterfall at Bongsudae Park.

At the 'Lovely Our Child Photo Exhibition,' visitors can view photos capturing infants, toddlers, their families, and happy daycare life.

The district held a related photo contest from April to May and selected 35 finalists to be exhibited at the event.

The 'Durumoah Flea Market,' held for the first time this year, allows residents to directly sell and purchase toys, childcare products, picture books, clothes, and more. It is expected to be a sharing space where expensive childcare items can be purchased cheaply and where communication and childcare consensus can be formed. The district also expects resource utilization and household consumption reduction effects through the flea market.

Along with these two events, electric car experiences by Ditron and various food booths will be operated to provide diverse enjoyment for visitors.

For more details about the events, please refer to the Jungnang-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center website.

Ryu Kyung-gi, mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "We organized this event to make the happy and lovely moments of our children more meaningful memories," adding, "I hope this event will become a place of exchange that enhances bonds among infant families, daycare centers, and the local community and shares useful childcare information."

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) will conduct the '2022 Local Cultural Heritage Utilization Project,' operating various programs such as education, performances, and exhibitions using local cultural heritage from June to December.

The Local Cultural Heritage Utilization Project is a Cultural Heritage Administration public project, consisting of the 'Vivid Cultural Heritage' project based on Seoul Hoamsanseong Fortress and the 'Traditional Mountain Temple Cultural Heritage' project based on the traditional temple Hoapsa and the seated stone Buddha statue.

Geumcheon-gu plans to re-examine the cultural heritage value of Seoul Hoamsanseong Fortress (Historic Site No. 343) and Hoapsa Seated Stone Buddha Statue (Seoul City Cultural Heritage Material No. 8) through this project.

In the Vivid Cultural Heritage project, under the theme 'What Are You Doing Playing? Hoamsanseong PR Man,' programs such as ▲Hoamsanseong Vivid Festival ▲I Promote Hoamsanseong Season 2 ▲Hoamsanseong Road Happy Walking ▲Hoamsanseong School will be held, including exploration, experience, education, exhibition, and performance festival programs.

Especially, in 'I Promote Hoamsanseong Season 2,' a work contest involving residents will be held on the theme of Seoul Hoamsanseong stories, and excellent works will be exhibited, expecting Hoamsanseong to firmly establish itself as Geumcheon-gu's representative cultural heritage.

The Traditional Mountain Temple Cultural Heritage project, under the theme 'Tell Me Your Wish!,' consists of programs such as ▲Game Over at Hoapsa ▲Meditation at Hoapsa ▲Mountain Temple Humanities - Conversation with the Head Monk and Mountain Temple Performances, which include mountain temple exploration using games, cultural experiences, and humanities lectures.

Through the story of Hoapsa, a temple with a patriotic spirit that contributed to the founding of the Joseon Dynasty, the project aims to enhance Geumcheon residents' cultural identity and provide cultural enjoyment opportunities to culturally marginalized groups.

The executing organization, Education Sharing Cooperative, will conduct resident-participatory programs using cultural heritage so that residents can feel the historical value of Geumcheon-gu's cultural heritage directly and become guardians who protect cultural heritage themselves.

Geumcheon-gu has incorporated 4th industrial technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and introduced game methods into the programs to respond to the non-face-to-face society created by the 4th industrial revolution era and COVID-19, making it easier for the millennial generation to access cultural heritage.

The programs will run from June to December. For detailed inquiries and participation applications, visit the Education Sharing Cooperative internet cafe.

Yoo Sung-hoon, mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We will continuously promote cultural heritage maintenance projects and local customized cultural heritage utilization projects to take a step forward as a cultural city, Geumcheon-gu," adding, "I hope many residents enjoy our cultural heritage and have healing moments through various cultural heritage utilization programs."
