'Longest Golf Marathon Team Category' Official Korean Record Challenge by Korea Records Institute
Separate Recruitment for Participants Experiencing '36 to 72 Holes' in a Day... Apply via Jeje Band
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] The "1st Asia Economy Honam·Jeje Ironman Golf Tournament," hosted by Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters and organized by Jeje Band, will be held for three days from July 18 to 20 on Jeju Island.
The event, which completes a total of 198 holes over 11 rounds, will challenge the official highest record of the Korea Records Institute for the "Longest Duration Golf Marathon Team Category."
On the first day of the tournament, July 18, participants will start with 72 holes at Ora Golf Course on Jeju Island, followed by 54 holes at Booyoung Golf Course on the 19th, and then complete 72 holes again at Ora Golf Course on the 20th, challenging a total of 11 rounds and 198 holes over three days.
On the final day of the challenge, July 20, in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, a celebration performance for the successful record in the "Longest Duration Golf Marathon Team Category" and a certificate awarding ceremony will be held.
Those who complete all 198 holes can apply to the Korea Records Institute and, after a prescribed procedure, receive an official certificate of record success. Participants who complete 72 or 54 holes will be issued a completion certificate by the organizers.
To ensure smooth game progress and successful record attempts, the event will be operated with a minimum number of teams. So far, 11 teams with 44 participants have applied out of the planned 15 teams for the 198-hole challenge. The registration will close after recruiting 4 more teams with 20 participants.
Meanwhile, for golfers who cannot challenge the 198 holes, participants for the Ironman Golf experience ranging from 36 to 72 holes per day are also being separately recruited. Applications can be made through Jeje Band.
