JW Bioscience Launches Portable Pulmonary Function Device 'Chestmate' Portable Spirometer 'Chestmate'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] JW Bioscience announced on the 8th that it has launched the portable spirometer 'Chestmate'.

Chestmate is a portable spirometer equipped with an LCD touch screen, designed to diagnose lung function in patients with respiratory disorders. Patient information can be entered quickly and accurately on the LCD touch screen, and the entire user interface (UI) supports Korean language. Additionally, it is ultra-lightweight at 125g and features a rechargeable battery for easy portability.

After measurement, results such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), presence of respiratory disorders, and forced vital capacity (FVC) graphs can be viewed on the device screen, eliminating the need for separate examiner interpretation. It can perform up to 8 tests per person and register information for up to 200 patients.

The device uses a semi-permanent diagnostic sensor and enhances hygiene by blocking droplets twice through a bacterial filter that prevents secondary infections from viruses such as COVID-19 and influenza.

A JW Bioscience representative stated, "Due to environmental factors such as COVID-19 and fine dust, the proportion of patients with respiratory disorders is increasing, making lung capacity diagnosis an essential examination rather than an option. Especially with the application of the primary care pilot project for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma this year, we plan to expand market share through active marketing."
