Nature "Symbol of Biodiversity Conservation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] A giant "monster" freshwater stingray, measuring 4 meters in length and heavier than the combined weight of three adults, was caught, drawing attention.
The international scientific journal Nature recently reported that a giant "monster" freshwater stingray, 4 meters long and weighing 181 kg, was caught alive on a fisherman's hook in the Mekong River in Cambodia, selecting its photo as the "Best Science Photo of May." Fortunately, the freshwater stingray was rescued by a rescue team and released back into the river without injury.
Nature stated, "The fisherman who accidentally caught the monster freshwater stingray in the muddy waters of the Mekong River fainted," adding, "The Mekong River is known worldwide for its well-preserved biodiversity, with about 1,000 species of fish, including rare species like the monster freshwater stingray, inhabiting its waters."
