KG Steel Supplies 140t of '1784' Color Steel Plates to Naver's Second Office Building

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] KG Steel announced on the 7th that it supplied 140t of antibacterial color steel plates for office furniture, such as partitions, to Naver's second office building '1784'. About 5,000 office furniture seats are installed across 20 floors within 1784, and all partitions were constructed using KG Steel's color steel plate X-TONE.

Since April last year, KG Steel has collaborated with furniture company Upia to develop customized products for the new building 1784. As Naver designed 1784 as a workspace where people and robots coexist, KG Steel and Upia chose a silver color reminiscent of a futuristic city to harmonize the space and furniture. The partitions, serving as droplet-blocking shields, were manufactured at 1800mm height, creating a safe work environment even during the phased return to normal life (With Corona). In particular, KG Steel's antibacterial color steel plates contain silver nanoparticles in the coating, which inhibit bacterial growth on the steel surface, making them highly preferred for corporate office furniture.

Based on its expertise accumulated in architectural interior and exterior materials and premium home appliances, KG Steel aims to expand its presence in the office furniture market. With the office furniture market showing growth potential, demand for KG Steel X-TONE is expected to increase. A KG Steel representative said, "According to various market forecasts, the global office furniture market size likely grew from $87.25 billion in 2016 to $104.57 billion in 2021, at an average annual growth rate of 3.71%. Partition and other office furniture module systems rank second in product scale after office chairs, so we will closely monitor related market trends."
