[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Korea Internet & Security Agency and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 7th that they have selected four projects for digital transformation services in areas closely related to citizens' daily lives using electronic documents through the '2022 Paperless Promotion Pilot Project' contest.
The selected projects are mobile electronic notification (Jeollabuk-do), digital test certificates (Korea Trade Information Service), electronic prescriptions (Online Pharm), and electronic submission of performance certificates (Public Procurement Service).
Through these projects, outcomes such as resolving citizen inconvenience and damage caused by misdelivery of paper mail (mobile electronic notification), addressing social issues related to forgery and alteration of test certificates and improving productivity of domestic companies (digital test certificates), enhancing protection of patients' personal medical and health information and convenience (electronic prescriptions), and reducing the use of over 800,000 public procurement paper documents annually (electronic submission of performance certificates) are expected.
