[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] On the 7th, the nationwide weather will be mostly cloudy with some areas experiencing rain.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 6th, the rain that started the previous day in Gangwon Yeongdong will continue until the evening. Rain will also fall in parts of Jeolla region, Jeju Island, Chungcheong region, western inland Gyeongbuk, and inland Gyeongnam. Some rainy areas will experience gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Expected precipitation amounts are 5-20mm in Gangwon Yeongdong, 5-30mm in western inland Gyeongbuk, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island, and 5-10mm in Chungcheong region and inland Gyeongnam.
The morning low temperatures are expected to range from 12 to 17 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs from 16 to 24 degrees Celsius. Due to gusts, daytime temperatures in Gangwon Yeongdong and the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk are expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius, so precautions should be taken to prevent crop damage caused by low temperatures.
Strong swells are expected to flow into the east coast of Gangwon, the coastal areas of Gyeongsang region, and the coast of Jeju Island. Very high waves may come over sandy beaches, rocky shores, breakwaters, and coastal roads. Sea waves are forecasted to be 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the South Sea nearshore.
In the mountainous areas of Gangwon, dense fog with visibility around 200 meters is expected until the morning.
