Cheonghak Beach Section C, Dumulmeori Small Garden, Water Playground and Waterside Spectator Seating Construction
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Cheonghak Valley Resort, an ecological stream and a representative tourist attraction in Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province, held its 3rd anniversary event on the 3rd, coinciding with its reopening following the lifting of social distancing measures.
Before the reopening, the city added ▲Cheonghak Beach Section C (720㎡) ▲Dumulmeori Small Garden ▲Water Playground and Waterfront Seating ▲Large Shade Canopies to the resort.
About 3,000 people, including social organization executives and residents, attended the 3rd anniversary event, with special guest broadcaster Shim Hyung-rae in attendance.
The first part of the ceremony began with a performance by the Namyangju City Choir, followed by presentations on the past and present of Cheonghak Valley Resort, and an opening performance. The second part featured a talk concert titled "Friday N Meet."
Separately, a booth called "Visiting Second Closet" was operated, and environmental experience education such as soap making was conducted.
Notably, this year, merit plaques were awarded to six members including Yoo Do-geun of the Namyangju Cheonghak Valley Cooperative, who helped establish the resort, as well as to the Byeolnae-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee.
Mayor Jo Gwang-han said, "Cheonghak Valley Resort is Korea's first space that confirms that we are the owners of the valley," adding, "I am confident that it will become the best space by further expanding various convenience facilities, including the ongoing Art Library project."
