‘Running for the Strength of Korea’s Rice’ Eduwill ESG Committee Donates 100 Bags of Rice Monthly to Welfare Centers and More

Eduwill, a comprehensive education company, has an ESG Committee that has been conducting a social contribution activity every month without fail since 2011. This is the 'Sharing Love Rice' initiative. Every month, they visit local children's centers and welfare centers nationwide to deliver 100 bags of rice as an act of love.

This social contribution activity, ongoing for 12 years, has supported education for vulnerable children and youth as well as local residents, while also providing them with the strength from a proper meal. Eduwill has donated 100 bags of 10kg rice, that is 1 ton of rice, to 137 locations nationwide that need their help, totaling approximately 137 tons.

In May, they visited the 'Seongbuk 50 Plus Center' for the 137th Sharing Love Rice donation ceremony. This institution is a senior leisure facility operated by the Gye-Young Welfare Foundation, a social welfare practice corporation, running various welfare support projects for the stable retirement of the 50 plus generation.

A representative from Eduwill's ESG Committee said, "As Koreans say 'bapsim' (strength from rice), having a meal is the most basic need, and we thought this was a sharing activity that could be sustained for a long time," adding, "We want to support not only the strength from meals but also educational support for vulnerable children and youth so that they can settle more stably in society."

Besides the Sharing Love Rice initiative, Eduwill's ESG Committee operates a scholarship foundation to help adolescents from financially difficult families focus on their studies. They also provide support for the qualification exam courses for out-of-school youth, including probationary youth nationwide, and run an 'Employee Sharing Fund' where the company and employees donate monthly through a matching grant system.
