The hotel industry is expanding 'meaning out' activities that incorporate eco-friendly elements into staycations in June, the Month of Environment. As the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), who are increasingly aware of environmental pollution and climate change, show growing interest in 'ethical consumption,' these initiatives allow them to enjoy staycations while directly or indirectly participating in environmental protection.

Glad Hotel is conducting an eco-friendly campaign called 'Glad Earth.' This campaign was prepared to mark the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, inspired by the identical pronunciation of 'Earth' (meaning the planet) and 'us' (meaning ourselves), symbolizing hope for a future where everyone is glad. As part of Glad Hotel's signature eco-friendly campaigns 'Save Earth, Save Jeju,' it encourages continuous interest and participation in environmental protection among hotel guests.

Throughout June, various events promoting the use of tumblers are held, involving three caf? and lounge locations: The Lounge at Maison Glad Jeju Lobby Lounge, Gritz Caf? at Glad Yeouido, and Caf? G, the Coffee and Beer Lounge at Glad Gangnam COEX Center. Guests who bring their personal tumblers receive a 500 KRW discount on Americano purchases (takeout only, ongoing). Glad Hotel's eco-friendly campaign 'Save Earth, Save Jeju' also operates a 'Green Card Program,' encouraging guests staying consecutive nights to opt out of linen washing. To reduce disposable product use, large-capacity dispensers are installed in rooms, label-free bottled water is provided, and campaign information is printed on linen materials, among other eco-friendly initiatives.

Kensington Hotel & Resort is running a 'Environment Day' event this month to practice environmental protection with customers. Guests can participate by leaving comments on the 'Environment Day Event' page on the official website, sharing their environmental protection practices or plans. Guests who bring the provided tumbler during their stay receive one Americano. Since January, Kensington Hotel & Resort has been conducting the 'Green Stay Campaign' to reduce plastic use. This includes label-free bottled water in rooms, takeout containers made from eco-friendly materials, biodegradable eco-friendly packaging and laundry collection bags, paper straws, and wooden sticks.

To foster an eco-friendly travel culture with customers, the Green Card system is also implemented. Guests staying two or more nights can use the Green Card to indicate their preference regarding bed sheet and cover changes, reducing the frequency of linen replacement and maintenance to protect the environment. Additionally, to reduce environmental impact, electric vehicle charging stations have been installed within resort facilities, and electric vehicles are being gradually introduced and operated.
