Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Investigators Conduct Evidence Search for Election Law Violation by Jung-gu Mayor Candidate from 9:30 AM on the 2nd
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The prosecution is reportedly conducting a search and seizure at the Jung-gu Office in Seoul on suspicion of violating election laws.
About 20 investigators from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office visited the Jung-gu Office around 9:30 a.m. on the 2nd and are carrying out a search and seizure of the mayor's office.
They appear to be conducting the search and seizure related to a case in which the Seoul Metropolitan Election Commission reported to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office that Jung-gu Office employees were mobilized for events before the June 1 local elections. The Jung-gu Election Commission recognized the seriousness of the matter at the time and filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
Accordingly, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office reportedly postponed the search and seizure to after the June 1 local elections due to concerns that it might affect the election.
