[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Mental Health Welfare Center of Gijang-gun Public Health Center signed a business agreement with the Life Love Crisis Response Center of Dong-A University Hospital on the 26th to establish a suicide prevention safety net for residents.


At the signing ceremony, Park Subin, team leader of the Public Health Center's Mental Health Welfare Center, Lee Jaehun, director of the Life Love Crisis Response Center, and Kim Hyunsu, deputy director, attended.


Through this agreement, the two organizations will promote information sharing and mutual linkage regarding mentally vulnerable groups and high-risk suicide groups, jointly conduct case management and counseling, and are expected to contribute to improving the mental health of local residents and reducing suicide rates.


Since 2018, the Public Health Center has been operating the Mental Health Welfare Center in consignment with Haeundae Paik Hospital, and is promoting various health promotion projects such as severe management projects for welfare of mental patients in the jurisdiction, and tests, counseling, campaigns, and education for prevention and early intervention of mental health problems of residents.


The Life Love Crisis Response Center was established in June 2021 and consists of emergency medicine and psychiatry medical staff and a case management team. It supports the emotional recovery of suicide attempters visiting the emergency room and provides services to prevent repeated suicide attempts.


A representative of the Gijang-gun Public Health Center Mental Health Welfare Center said, “We will do our best to actively cooperate with related organizations to operate various mental health programs for the promotion of residents' mental health.”
