[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS25 announced on the 31st that starting from the 1st of next month, it will launch two types of beer, Yogiyo Beer and Golden Gobi Beer, linked to its online-offline integration and overseas business strategies.
Yogiyo Beer is a product planned by GS Retail after completing the acquisition of Yogiyo and collaborating with OB Beer. Yogiyo Beer is a pilsner lager with an alcohol content of 4.7%, brewed with Sorachi Ace hops and Cascade hops, featuring subtle orange and floral aromas designed to pair well with any food ordered through Yogiyo or pickup services.
From the 3rd, customers who purchase four cans of Yogiyo Beer at GS25 can enter a draw for Yogiyo gift certificates worth a total of 150 million KRW through the mobile application (app) My Fridge. Orders made through the Yogiyo app with GS25’s pickup service (Pickup25) have also significantly increased, and customers who purchase products worth more than 13,000 KRW via Pickup25 will receive a 4,000 KRW discount.
Golden Gobi Beer is a synergy-enhancing product linked to GS25’s overseas business strategy in Mongolia. It is produced by Sean Kolai Group, the second-largest local business partner operating GS25 in Mongolia, and is the representative beer in Mongolia with about 90% market share. It has an alcohol content of 5.1% and received the Best Asian Beer award at the 2015 World Beer Awards, earning high praise at international competitions.
A GS25 official said, “The two differentiated beers we are introducing this time are excellent products on their own but will also serve as cases that maximize synergy with important businesses. Through the growing delivery and pickup platform services and overseas business, we aim to continuously provide special experiences to domestic consumers.”
