If weather forecasts for fine dust, yellow dust, or heatwaves are issued by 5 p.m. the day before the event, or if it rains by 6 a.m. on the day of the event, the event will be canceled. Cancellation status can be checked on the district office website.
The ‘Anyangcheon Love Family Health Walking Contest’ started in 2003 with the aim of keeping Anyangcheon clean and green, and has been held annually from March to November.
It was temporarily postponed due to COVID-19 and has been held online since July 2020. Participants certify completion by passing designated points around Anyangcheon using the dedicated ‘Anyangcheon Love Health Walking’ app at their convenience.
A Guro-gu official said, “We plan to continue holding the walking contest online in the future. It has not yet been decided whether it will be regularly held face-to-face as before COVID-19. We hope everyone has a healthy time walking together with their families.”
Mapo-gu announced that from June to November, it will hold the ‘SMILE (Smart Life of Mapo) Tourism Review Event’ targeting domestic and international tourists visiting major tourist attractions in Mapo.
The district added that the event aims to discover new tourism resources by sharing vivid reviews recording the daily travel experiences of tourists visiting Mapo, thereby revitalizing the tourism industry, which has been weakened by COVID-19.
To participate, tourists can upload tourism reviews with photos on the ‘SMILE Board’ on the Mapo-gu Culture and Tourism website, or post tourism reviews on their personal Instagram or Facebook accounts with the required hashtags ▲#TouristAttractionName ▲#MapoTourism ▲#MapoSMILEEntry.
The submission period is from the 1st to the end of each month. Submitted reviews will be judged in June, and 10 excellent reviews will be selected.
Selected excellent reviews will receive a mobile gift certificate worth 30,000 KRW. The excellent reviews will be featured on the Mapo-gu Culture and Tourism website and social media, and will be used as promotional materials for tourism in the future.
Details can be found on the Mapo-gu Culture and Tourism website or on Mapo Tourism’s Instagram and Facebook pages. Phone inquiries can also be made to the Mapo-gu Tourism Division.
A district official said, “We hope the SMILE Tourism Review Event will be an opportunity to discover hidden tourist attractions in Mapo. We encourage all tourists visiting Mapo-gu to participate in the SMILE Tourism Review Event.”
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) is holding a ‘Job Idea Contest.’
The contest is being promoted to discover jobs that coexist with change and value. The district plans to incorporate socially valuable ideas into policies.
The contest themes are ▲‘Social Value Creation’ addressing social issues such as the environment and aging ▲‘Regional Type’ creating differentiated jobs unique to Gangbuk-gu such as culture and tourism ▲‘Free Theme’ for creative ideas including future jobs ▲‘Employment Support Services’ such as ideas for employment education and job matching promotion.
Anyone can participate regardless of age, gender, or region.
The submission period is until July 15. Required documents such as the application form and idea proposal must be submitted via email. A confirmation message will be sent within three days after receipt.
The district will evaluate entries based on feasibility, creativity, effectiveness, and sustainability. To ensure fair judging, three external judges will be appointed.
Winning entries will be selected in order of highest scores. The district plans to select at least one work per contest theme.
The winners will be announced on August 19. Prizes will be awarded to seven people in total: one grand prize winner (1,000,000 KRW), one excellence prize winner (700,000 KRW), two encouragement prize winners (500,000 KRW each), and three effort prize winners (100,000 KRW each).
Required documents and other details can be found on the Gangbuk-gu website. For inquiries, contact the Gangbuk-gu Job Economy Division.
Mayor Park Gyeom-su said, “Through this contest, we will strive to create jobs suited to Gangbuk-gu’s characteristics and activate job creation by reflecting the opinions of residents.”
