A man in his 50s suspected of stroke urgently transported from Seogwipo sea


[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A man in his 50s suspected of having a cerebral infarction was urgently transported by the Seogwipo Coast Guard from a fishing vessel operating in the southern waters of Seogwipo, Jeju.


According to the Seogwipo Maritime Police Station on the 30th, at 7:21 p.m. on the 28th, a report was received that a Korean crew member B (male, in his 50s) on fishing vessel A (nearshore longline, 37 tons, registered in Seogwipo, 8 crew members) suddenly collapsed while fishing about 444 km south of Seogwipo. Although he had breathing and pulse, he was unconscious, and a transfer request was made.


Upon receiving the report, the Seogwipo Coast Guard ordered the patrol ship to head south and requested fishing vessel A to head north. At around 3:52 a.m. the next day, about 278 km south of Marado, the patient and guardian were transferred to the patrol ship.


Patient B was diagnosed with suspected cerebral infarction through a remote medical system, emergency treatment was administered under the doctor's instructions, and he was transported exclusively. At 2:50 p.m., he was handed over to the 119 ambulance team waiting at Seogwipo Port and then transported to a medical institution.


It is known that B had regained consciousness when handed over to the 119 ambulance team.


Meanwhile, the Seogwipo Coast Guard has transported a total of 22 emergency patients this year.
