SME Support Policy Idea Contest Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 29th that it will hold the 30th Small and Medium Business Support Policy Idea Contest to discover demand-driven policies and innovate the institution's operations and support projects.

SBC has been holding the contest to raise public awareness of small and medium enterprises and to discover various policy ideas. Anyone with ideas for supporting small and medium enterprises can apply, and up to three people can participate jointly.

The contest categories are ▲Innovative Policy Idea Report and ▲Idea Video. This year, marking the 30th contest, SBC newly established the innovative policy idea video category to encourage more public participation.

The themes for the innovative policy idea report contest are six: ▲Innovative growth of small and medium enterprises ▲Innovation plans for regional small and medium enterprises ▲Regulatory innovation ▲Digital transformation of small and medium enterprises ▲ESG management of small and medium enterprises ▲Response to global supply chain risks. Participants can choose one of these themes to enter.

The innovative policy idea video should be produced freely within 3 minutes under the theme "I am a Small and Medium Enterprise," presenting one's own ideas related to small and medium enterprise policies and support projects.

To participate, submissions must be made on a separate website from the 30th of this month until the 30th (Thursday) of next month. SBC's field departments will conduct the first evaluation, and the second evaluation will reflect expert assessments and online public evaluations to select the winners around August.

The total prize money is 21 million KRW. Two grand prizes of 3 million KRW each, two excellence awards of 2 million KRW each, and a total of 13 works will be selected and rewarded. Winners will receive preferential treatment when applying to SBC within two years after winning.

Chairman Kim Hak-do said, "SBC will carefully review various ideas proposed by the public and reflect them in effective policies to help small and medium enterprises wisely overcome their difficulties."
