[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Se-eun] The Democratic Party of Korea recently held an emergency emergency committee meeting regarding the party's recent turmoil and stated, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to the public and Democratic Party candidates."
Ko Yong-jin, the chief spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, said at the emergency committee meeting on the 28th, "Chairman Park and Chairman Yoon expressed their apologies for the recent confusion and said that all the various issues have been resolved."
He also stated, "We accept the current situation as the growing pains of the Democratic Party showing a changed appearance, and from today, the emergency committee will devote itself more to winning the upcoming local elections and innovating the party."
Spokesperson Ko mentioned, "The emergency committee also agreed with the reform direction proposed by Chairman Park: 'a younger Democratic Party, a stricter Democratic Party, a Democratic Party that keeps its promises, a Democratic Party that breaks away from violent fandoms, and a Democratic Party preparing for the future.'"
He continued, "After the election, there was consensus on creating democratic procedures and structures involving party members with voting rights, youth party members, delegates, regional committee chairs, and members of the National Assembly to implement these reforms."
