Permission Granted for Operations Including Pubs
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] The capital city of Liaoning Province, Shenyang, China, has virtually lifted its lockdown after about two months.
On the 28th, Shenyang announced that it would allow the reopening of indoor public facilities such as saunas, massage parlors, PC rooms, and pubs, but the number of visitors will be limited to 50-75% of the usual capacity.
All residents are required to undergo PCR testing every two days, maintaining continuous epidemic control measures. Workers must complete vaccination and provide three consecutive days of negative PCR test results before returning to work. Key workers in sectors related to daily life, such as customs, logistics, and pharmacies, as well as public officials, must undergo PCR testing every 24 hours.
Shenyang locked down the city on March 24th when COVID-19 spread, and resumed operation of production facilities and public transportation on the 13th of last month as the situation calmed down. Since the 25th of last month, commercial facilities have also been allowed to operate.
Shenyang has maintained single-digit infection numbers since the beginning of this month. With a population of 9.07 million, Shenyang is a transportation hub connecting inland China including Beijing and northeastern cities such as Harbin, Dalian, Dandong, and Yanji.
