[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] As of 8 a.m. on the day of early voting for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections, the cumulative early voting rate in Gyeongnam stands at 11.78%.
According to the Central Election Commission, out of 2,804,287 eligible voters in Gyeongnam Province, 330,276 had voted by 8 a.m. that day.
This is 0.03 percentage points higher than the early voting rate of 11.19% at the same time on the second day of the 7th local elections.
Early voting is possible anywhere if voters bring a photo ID issued by a public institution, such as a resident registration card or youth ID (including mobile IDs). One early voting station is set up in each eup, myeon, and dong, with a total of 305 locations operating. General voters can vote from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Confirmed COVID-19 patients and those in quarantine can vote from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and must bring not only an ID but also a ‘confirmed patient voting guidance text message’ or similar documentation.
