[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan City will hold a 'Mid- to Long-term Large-scale Investment Project Discovery Report Meeting' at 4 p.m. on the 27th in the situation room on the 7th floor of the main building, chaired by the Director of the Planning and Coordination Office.
The report meeting was prepared to proactively respond to securing national funds by early discovery and review of projects through the establishment of a command headquarters and a dedicated task force (TF), given the nature of large-scale mid- to long-term projects that span several years.
At the meeting, after forming the dedicated task force (TF) for discovering mid- to long-term large-scale investment projects, reports will be made on priority projects discovered by research institutions and departments, including the project plans and review opinions from the relevant departments.
The main reported items include a total of 35 projects requiring preliminary procedures such as preliminary feasibility studies or feasibility studies, including ▲President-elect's pledges ▲Vision 2040 promotion tasks ▲mid- to long-term balanced development policies of city, district, and county ▲proposals from related organizations ▲and department-discovered projects, with a minimum scale of 10 billion KRW or more for new large-scale projects. The economic feasibility, efficiency, and feasibility of these projects will be reported.
Ulsan City plans to first allocate the budget necessary to carry out preliminary procedures for projects finalized through the final report meeting among the reported projects.
A city official said, "Large-scale investment projects take a long time for discovery and preliminary procedures, but once implemented, they have a significant employment inducement effect and are essential for revitalizing the local economy, so we must prepare in advance." He added, "We plan to quickly respond to securing government budgets by pre-conceiving and discovering large-scale project businesses."
The command headquarters for discovering mid- to long-term large-scale investment projects will be handled by the Budget Officer's Office, and the task force (TF) formed on the 10th will be led by the Director of the Planning and Coordination Office, with participation from the National Budget Team, research institutions, essential participating departments, and project discovery departments.
