[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Kim Youngjun (30, male), who was prosecuted for producing and selling sexual exploitation materials of male children and adolescents, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the appellate court as well.

On the morning of the 27th, the Criminal Division 4-3 of the Seoul High Court (Presiding Judges Kim Bokhyung, Bae Giyeol, Oh Youngjun) dismissed both Kim Youngjun's and the prosecution's appeals on charges of violating the Juvenile Sex Protection Act (production and distribution of obscene materials, etc.) and forcible molestation, sentencing him accordingly. He was also ordered to pay a fine of about 14.8 million won, disclose and notify personal information for 5 years, undergo probation, and face a 10-year employment restriction at child and disabled-related institutions.

Previously, Kim was accused of deceiving victims by pretending to be female through video calls from December 2011 to April last year, producing sexual exploitation materials of 79 male child and adolescent victims. He was also charged with selling 8 male child and adolescent sexual exploitation materials and 1,839 adult illegal filming materials from August 2020 to April last year.

It was revealed that Kim lured men by uploading female photos as profiles on dating apps and deceived them through video calls using voice-changing programs. At the time of arrest, it was investigated that Kim possessed about 1,570 child and adolescent sexual exploitation materials and about 5,470 adult illegal filming materials on an external hard drive.

The first trial court sentenced him to 10 years in prison, criticizing, "The crime is very serious as he targeted an unspecified large number of children and adolescents, who are vulnerable to infringement and exploitation, as objects to satisfy sexual desires and sold the filmed materials."
