[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] Noroo Paint is conducting an event to revitalize the worn and peeling traditional market 'Mangwon World Cup Market' through a poster challenge that donates through support.
Anyone can easily participate in this challenge on the Noroo Paint event website. First, select character artwork and colors created by illustrator Kim Daye, then enter your own value message for the slogan 'Raising Value' to complete the poster. Afterward, upload the completed poster publicly on your personal Instagram to complete the challenge participation.
The poster challenge, where the amount of paint donated to Mangwon World Cup Market increases as custom posters accumulate, encourages participation in donations by publicly sharing real-time participation status. Also, various prizes and T-shirts featuring the artist’s artwork will be provided through a raffle for those who participate in the challenge.
Noroo Paint plans to support all areas including paint and related materials, design, and construction for this challenge. The mural will depict 'people raising value through paint,' designed by artist Kim Daye, who collaborated on the poster artwork.
As COVID-19 prolonged, traditional markets faced difficulties, but recently visitors have been gradually increasing with the easing of social distancing. Noroo Paint planned this challenge to create fun murals where visitors can take commemorative photos on the peeling parts that have worn over many years, aiming to energize both visitors and merchants.
Earlier this year, Noroo Paint announced the slogan '[ ], Raising Value. Noroo Paint' and has been carrying out various activities to raise the value of paint. The previously held Noroo Atelier event and this poster challenge are also activities to convey the intrinsic value of paint.
A Noroo Paint official said, "As each poster is uploaded on Instagram, the environment of Mangwon World Cup Market is expected to improve," adding, "We hope many people will support and participate in the challenge to help revitalize traditional markets."
