CJ Freshway Sees Recovery in Foodservice Ingredient Sales This Year... "Surpassing Pre-COVID Levels"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] CJ Freshway's cumulative sales of foodservice ingredients from January to April this year have surpassed the levels before the spread of COVID-19.


According to CJ Freshway on the 27th, the cumulative sales during this period increased by 4.7% compared to 2019 and grew by 8% compared to the same period last year. All contracts with foodservice franchises with monthly sales exceeding 100 million KRW, which were up for renewal in the first quarter of this year, were successfully renewed.


Since last year, CJ Freshway has been developing the 'Meal & Business Solution' project to support the successful business expansion of its clients, providing various products and services such as customized product development, marketing support, and operation manual production. As a leading company in the food ingredient distribution industry, it also helps expand its clients' franchise businesses based on its product, manufacturing, and logistics infrastructure.


Since November 2020, CJ Freshway has been supplying ingredients to the handmade burger specialty store 'GTS Burger.' At the time of the contract, GTS Burger operated only one main store in Suwon, but with its trendy burger menu gaining popularity, it has now surpassed 10 stores.


'Geumbyeol Beer,' which signed a supply contract last year, has rapidly increased its number of stores since starting its franchise business in 2019 with various types of beer and distinctive food, currently operating 71 stores nationwide.
