[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) is recruiting companies to participate in the 'Incheon-type Specialized Robot Demonstration Support Project' until the 13th of next month.

This project aims to discover and nurture robot convergence models specialized for the Incheon region, supporting product planning, research and development (R&D), demonstration, and commercialization of logistics robots, entertainment robots, and professional service robots.

For logistics robots performing logistics transportation tasks in manufacturing plants, logistics centers, airports, ports, railroads, and retail stores, two or more consortia will be selected, each receiving up to 200 million KRW for product and commercialization costs.

Additionally, for entertainment robots used in indoor performances, experiences, and education, and professional service robots deployed in medical care, quarantine, and pollution treatment, one or more consortia will be selected, with support up to 40 million KRW each.

The support targets consortia composed of Incheon-based robot companies with specialized robot manufacturing and service technologies and companies (institutions) that will introduce and operate them. Companies and research institutes that can enhance the completeness of the robots may also participate as cooperating organizations.

Since 2020, Incheon TP has been conducting specialized robot commercialization and demonstration support projects, discovering eight specialized robot convergence models in the fields of logistics, entertainment, and non-face-to-face service robots, including transportation, performance, quarantine, and guidance.

An Incheon TP official stated, "Incheon, equipped with global logistics infrastructure such as airports, ports, and industrial complexes, has optimal conditions for specializing in logistics robots," adding, "We will support securing differentiated competitiveness in the robot industry compared to other regions."
