"0% Flour" Sempio Launches 'Brown Rice Somyeon'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Sempio announced on the 27th that it has launched ‘Sempio Brown Rice Somyeon’.


Sempio Brown Rice Somyeon is a product that adds healthiness and a savory flavor, reflecting the needs of consumers who enjoyed the existing ‘Sempio Rice Somyeon’. As is well known, brown rice is rich in high-quality nutrients such as dietary fiber, protein, and minerals. Compared to white rice, it digests more slowly, providing longer-lasting satiety and preventing sugar from being rapidly absorbed into the body.


This new product is made without flour or any additional additives, applying a vacuum aging dough method inspired by the traditional noodle-making process of hand-kneading and rolling with a rolling pin. The noodles are chewy and do not break easily. Made thinly with the thickness of regular wheat somyeon, the broth soaks in well, and it blends harmoniously with seasonings, making it ideal for enjoying various noodle dishes such as janchi-guksu or bibim-guksu healthily and gluten-free.


A Sempio representative said, “Driven by consumers’ positive response to enjoying noodle dishes more deliciously and healthily, sales of Sempio Rice Somyeon have grown 30-40% annually,” adding, “Starting with Brown Rice Somyeon, Sempio plans to research healthy ingredients and introduce various noodle products that reflect consumer needs.”
