[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Walkerhill Hotel & Resort (hereinafter Walkerhill) is introducing a differentiated cultural content with the newly established immersive art exhibition space, 'Theater of Light.'
According to Walkerhill on the 27th, the Theater of Light, which opens on this day, is a permanent exhibition space aimed at 'immersive art exhibitions,' allowing visitors to experience masterpieces from a new perspective. The first exhibition is 'Gustav Klimt - Gold in Motion,' highlighting the representative works of the 'Painter of Golden Hues,' Gustav Klimt, and will be held until March 5 next year. Viewing hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Walkerhill Theater has been reborn as a cultural landmark providing visitors with a new cultural and artistic experience through the Theater of Light. In particular, boasting a massive scale of approximately 1,000 pyeong (about 3,306 square meters) and a maximum height of 21 meters, equipped with facilities for performances, it offers optimal conditions that immerse visitors through various lights and sounds.
The main exhibition, the Long Show, presents a spectacular performance by newly interpreting Gustav Klimt's works with light and music. High-definition projectors display masterpieces by the Austrian painting master Gustav Klimt, such as 'The Kiss,' 'Judith,' and 'The Tree of Life,' projected onto the walls, pillars, and floors of the exhibition space, illuminating Klimt's unique creative world through six sequences.
Additionally, this exhibition features a Short Show composed of works by Yves Klein, a modern art master known as the 'Painter of Blue,' alongside Klimt. Titled 'Yves Klein, Infinite Blue,' the Short Show traces the footsteps of Yves Klein, born in Nice, France, who devoted himself to the theme of blue and his exploration of the intangible. This exhibition guides visitors beyond Klein's trademark 'IKB (International Klein Blue)' into a broader world of his works.
To commemorate the opening of the Theater of Light, Walkerhill is launching two accommodation packages that combine art and relaxation for a new lifestyle. First, the Grand Walkerhill Theater of Light package includes admission to the Gustav Klimt exhibition at the Theater of Light, a stay in a Grand Deluxe Room, takeout pizza, and breakfast at The Buffet, starting at 267,000 KRW.
The Vista Walkerhill's 'RE:VIVE' package offers admission to the Gustav Klimt exhibition at the Theater of Light, a stay in a Vista Deluxe Room, and a 'Sole' lunch set at Vista Walkerhill's Italian restaurant Delvino on the day of check-in, starting at 342,000 KRW.
Hyun Mongju, General Manager of Walkerhill Hotel & Resort, said, "Walkerhill has continuously discovered content to provide customers with new cultural and artistic experiences. For example, last year, by opening the Print Bakery Walkerhill flagship store, we lowered the barrier to art collection and led a new consumption trend expressing tastes through art." He added, "We are very pleased to contribute to creating a cultural space where artworks can be viewed anew through advanced technology with the opening of the Theater of Light."
