People Power Party "Yang Seung-jo, Governor of Chungnam, Must Explain Sexual Harassment Allegations"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] On the 26th, the People Power Party demanded an explanation regarding Yang Seung-jo, governor of Chungnam Province from the Democratic Party, who has been accused of sexual harassment.

Yang Geum-hee, spokesperson for the People Power Party's Central Election Committee, stated in a commentary that "It has been revealed that a female victim in her 30s, a member of the Democratic Party, filed a complaint at the Cheonan Dongnam Police Station on the 25th," adding, "Following former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung and Assemblyman Park Wan-joo, Governor Yang is also involved in continuous sexual crime incidents. He must immediately apologize to the victim, local residents, and the public, and the truth must be uncovered through investigation."

Spokesperson Yang emphasized, "The victim is known to have been forcibly molested, including inappropriate physical contact, at a congratulatory gathering for Yang Seung-jo’s candidacy for Chungnam governor in late June 2018," and added, "What is even more shocking is that the report to the party’s sexual misconduct reporting center was rejected."
