Recruitment of 455 Candidates for 14 Units in Grades 7-9... 37 More Selected Than Initially Planned
Tie Scores and Gender Equality Applied
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government has finalized 455 successful candidates for the 'Seoul Metropolitan Government Local Civil Service Examination' conducted to recruit talent to lead Seoul's administration. Among the newly selected civil servants, women accounted for 80%, and those in their 20s made up 76%.
According to Seoul City on the 27th, the city announced that it selected the final candidates through interviews conducted from the 9th to the 12th among 540 who passed the written exam held on February 26.
Originally, a total of 418 candidates were to be selected across 18 recruitment units including health, nursing, surveying, and architecture, but due to ties and the application of the gender equality pass system, the final number increased by 37 to 455. There were no final selections in four recruitment units, including Forest Resources (Disabled) Grade 9, as no candidates passed the written exam.
The 455 selected this time are technical positions, with 3 at Grade 7, 185 at Grade 8, and 267 at Grade 9. The gender composition was 91 men (20%) and 364 women (80%), with women making up the majority. Age-wise, those in their 20s (344, 75.6%) were the majority, followed by 30s with 89 (19.6%), 40s with 21 (4.6%), and 50s with 1 (0.2%).
Meanwhile, the second Seoul City written exam this year is scheduled for June 18, and the third written exam for October 29. Detailed recruitment scale and exam schedules can be checked at the Local Government Internet Application Center.
