Kang Ki-jung, Kim Kwan-young, Kim Young-rok: "Democratic Party Innovation Will Meet Public Expectations"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Candidates for the Democratic Party's metropolitan government heads in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk gathered in one place and pledged to innovate the Democratic Party to meet the expectations of the people.

Kang Kijeong, candidate for Gwangju Metropolitan Mayor, Kim Youngrok, candidate for Jeonnam Governor, and Kim Gwanyeong, candidate for Jeonbuk Governor, held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office on the 26th and stated, "We will create a Democratic Party that responds to the people's wishes through innovation."

They said, "We will clearly express our determination to reform the Democratic Party starting from Honam, urge unity within the party, and take the lead," adding, "We will reestablish strong moral leadership and form a party innovation committee to begin creating a new Democratic Party."

They continued, "The Democratic Party will prioritize people's livelihood and the economy, adhere to principles on security, and respond humanely to North Korea's COVID-19 risks," adding, "We will fulfill the opposition party's role to prevent the Yoon Seok-yeol administration from falling into unilateral rule and arrogance."

Along with this, they urged the Democratic Party leadership to devote full effort during the remaining election period.

They emphasized, "We must respond to the wishes of the people, supporters, and party members who desire national balance and stability in people's livelihood," and "Starting with the Democratic Party in Honam, which has the largest number of party members, we will take the lead in party innovation."
