Pre-Inspection of Voting and Quarantine Management Preparation at 21 Early Voting Stations on the 26th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 26th, one day before the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections early voting, Gwanak-gu inspected all 21 early voting stations in the district.
The district stated that although the number of confirmed cases has been decreasing since the peak of the Omicron outbreak, concerns about infection still remain, so they conducted a check on the preparation status including quarantine management to ensure residents can vote safely and with peace of mind.
In particular, since voting times for COVID-19 confirmed patients are conducted separately, they carefully checked the management of confirmed voters' ballot marking and emergency response plans.
Voters who are quarantined due to COVID-19 confirmation can vote at any early voting station nationwide from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on the second day of early voting, May 28.
To minimize the spread of COVID-19, the district established thorough safety management measures at the 21 early voting stations in the district, including mask-wearing upon entering the voting station, hand sanitization, and sufficient social distancing.
A district official said, “We will do our utmost to thoroughly prepare, manage, and enforce quarantine measures for early voting.”
