[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The city of Naju, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it will install a 'ground fountain-type children's water play facility' in the Nampeong Riverside City Neighborhood Park.
The ground fountain, themed on 'Mom and Sister, Let's Live by the Riverside,' composed by the late genius musician An Seonghyeon from Nampeong, will have a total project cost of 900 million KRW. Construction will begin next month, with a pilot operation scheduled for August.
The city plans to create various types of fountain facilities such as swing nozzles, ground fountains, and ground mists, as well as a family resting area on a 200㎡ site within the park.
Park Deokjin, head of the Naju City Forest and Park Division, said, "The ground fountain, which will blow away the midsummer heat, will serve as a family-friendly resting space and contribute to improving the living conditions of the riverside city." He added, "Along with the installation of this fountain facility, we will create a historical pilgrimage trail connecting Nampeong Wolhyeondae Mountain Neighborhood Park and Nampeong Hyanggyo by next year."
