Yeonggwang-gun to Conduct Comprehensive Survey of 'Unregistered Groundwater Facilities' Starting Next Month

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it will conduct a full survey of unregistered groundwater facilities in the area from next month until the end of October.

The county was selected as a local government subject to the '2022 Full Survey Project of Unregistered Groundwater Facilities' by the Ministry of Environment (delegated to Korea Water Resources Corporation).

This survey is planned to be conducted by the Groundwater Registration Promotion Team of Korea Water Resources Corporation.

Currently used facilities will be incorporated into the system, and unused abandoned facilities will be restored to their original state or pollution prevention projects will be promoted to improve issues such as using groundwater without reporting or permission or leaving related facilities unattended without authorization.

The county plans to impose fines on users who do not agree to convert unregistered groundwater facilities currently in use to registered status, applying strict administrative sanctions against illegal activities.

A county official said, "We ask for the active cooperation of users and residents so that the survey can proceed as planned regarding the full survey of unregistered groundwater facilities," and added, "We will make further efforts for systematic groundwater facility management through this survey."
