[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] The Yoon Seok-yeol administration recently unveiled a concrete roadmap for the "Digital Platform Government," a key national agenda keyword related to IT. Core technology companies of the 4th Industrial Revolution are expected to grow.
Saltlux, the first company in the industry to be listed on the KOSDAQ market, has been growing by more than 20% annually. The AI company Saltlux, which has announced the launch of new AI-based businesses and B2C-centered services this year, is expected to continue its growth trend this year as well.
Saltlux has successfully carried out digital transformation projects for Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea District Heating Corporation, Korea Tourism Organization, NH Nonghyup Bank, Hyundai Motor Company, KT, Korea Investment & Securities, and others. It is an AI big data specialist company recognized externally for its technological capabilities and expertise. It actively participates in national projects and research and development, including annually leading and executing large-scale Digital New Deal projects.
In 2020, Saltlux integrated various administrative information such as civil affairs, electronic customs clearance, and public official pensions into a single portal through two projects: "Intelligent National Secretary Construction (Phase 1)" and "Civil Complaint Consultation 365 (Common Chatbot Platform) Construction." They built a civil complaint consultation chatbot capable of responding 24 hours to related inquiries. The "National Secretary Gooppi" improved the convenience of using administrative information. It also ranked first in the nationwide online survey themed "2021 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Good Policy."
Gooppi, used by more than one in four citizens, is regarded as a national standard chatbot and an example of innovative administration. Recently, Saltlux completed an upgrade by adding features such as voice service and multilingual support through additional projects and expanding channels linked to private apps. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has also announced plans to continuously expand Gooppi’s consultation areas to include National Call 110, driver’s license, and traffic safety education.
Saltlux also developed the intelligent integrated search service and consultation chatbot "Hunjatalk" for the Constitutional Court, which began pilot operation in April. Aiming to maximize the usability of information, they built high-quality training data based on accumulated materials including 15,000 legal terms and 80,000 everyday terms. Based on this, intelligent services were developed. Through this project, citizens can more conveniently access information ranging from precedents to constitutional court procedures and case reception status. Service upgrades through a second phase project are also scheduled for this year.
The "Spatial Big Data Analysis Platform Construction Project," promoted with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is one of the largest platform projects in Korea. Saltlux built a data analysis platform capable of rapidly processing national-scale data, laying the foundation for government agencies and local governments to realize smart administration based on spatial information. Policies and customized services utilizing this platform have also been developed. It is expected to contribute to the realization of future smart cities.
Saltlux has also carried out projects such as the "National Archives Semantic Search Construction Project," which enhanced the usability of national records by building a meaning-based search system, and the "Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Intelligent Crime Analysis and Prediction System Project," which derived hidden implications from crime-related data and established a crime prevention collaboration system.
A Saltlux official said, "As a leading company in artificial intelligence and big data, Saltlux, which has continuously honed its capabilities, can be the best partner in realizing the vision of the 'world’s best digital platform government.'" He added, "We will do our best to help South Korea stand tall as a leading advanced technology powerhouse in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution."
