Up to 22 Floors, 2 Buildings, 300 Households... 100 Households Are Public Housing
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] A multi-family housing complex with 300 households will be built in the area of 452-1 Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, located near Sadang Station on the Seoul subway line. Among these, 100 households will be supplied as public housing.
On the 25th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 8th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee and announced on the 26th that it had approved a revised designation and plan for the district unit planning zone for the construction of transit-oriented housing and public rental housing in the area of 452-1 Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu. The revisions include the addition of relaxed lanes to secure vehicle traffic flow.
This area previously had issues with noise and pollution affecting nearby residential facilities due to an existing golf driving range, which required improvement.
With this decision, the area of 452-1 Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu will be reborn from an outdoor golf driving range into a multi-family housing complex consisting of two buildings ranging from 7 basement floors to 22 above-ground floors, totaling 300 households. Among these, 100 households will be constructed as public housing.
Neighborhood living facilities will be placed on the first and second floors above ground. This area has an active surrounding commercial district, and the inclusion of various stores aims to support the local alleyway economy. On the first basement floor, community facilities such as indoor sports facilities will also be installed.
Kim Seongbo, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Housing Policy Office, stated, “Through this district unit plan decision and the construction of transit-oriented housing, we expect to improve the residential environment and enhance the welfare of residents around Sadang Station. At the same time, by supplying quality public housing, we can also contribute to stabilizing housing for low-income citizens.”
