[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] As the Yoon Seok-yeol administration unveiled the concrete roadmap for the 'Digital Platform Government,' a key national agenda keyword related to IT, for the first time on the 18th, the advancement of core technology companies in the 4th Industrial Revolution is being anticipated.
In particular, Saltlux, an artificial intelligence (AI) company that was the first in the industry to be listed on the KOSDAQ market and has maintained over 20% growth annually, is drawing attention as it has announced the launch of new AI-based businesses and B2C-centered services this year.
Saltlux is an AI big data specialized company that has successfully carried out digital transformation projects not only for administrative and public institutions such as △Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) △Korea District Heating Corporation △Korea Tourism Organization but also for prominent companies including △NH Nonghyup Bank △Hyundai Motor Company △KT △Korea Investment & Securities, thereby proving its technological capability and expertise externally. Additionally, it actively participates in national projects and research and development by annually leading and executing large-scale digital New Deal projects, solidifying its position as an industry-leading company.
In 2020, Saltlux implemented two projects: 'Intelligent National Secretary Construction (Phase 1)' and 'Civil Complaint Consultation 365 (Common Chatbot Platform) Construction,' integrating various administrative information such as civil affairs, electronic customs clearance, and public official pensions into a single window and establishing a civil complaint consultation chatbot capable of responding 24 hours to related inquiries. The resulting 'National Secretary Gooppi' greatly enhanced the convenience of using administrative information and ranked first in a nationwide online survey themed '2021 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Good Policy.'
Currently used by more than one in four citizens, Gooppi is regarded as the national standard chatbot and a case of innovative administration. Recently, Saltlux completed an upgrade by adding features such as voice service and multilingual support through additional projects and expanding channels linked to private apps. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has also announced plans to continuously expand Gooppi’s consultation areas to include services like National Call 110 and driver’s license and traffic safety education.
Saltlux also carried out the construction of the Constitutional Court’s intelligent integrated search service and consultation chatbot 'Hunjatalk,' which began pilot operation in April. This project aimed to maximize the usability of information by building high-quality learning data based on accumulated materials including 15,000 legal terms and 80,000 everyday terms, and developing intelligent services based on this data. Through this project, citizens can more conveniently access information ranging from precedents to constitutional court procedures and case reception status, with service upgrades planned for this year through a second phase.
The 'Spatial Big Data Analysis Platform Construction Project,' promoted with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is one of the largest platform projects in Korea. Saltlux built a data analysis platform capable of rapidly processing national-scale data, laying the foundation for government agencies and local governments to realize smart administration based on spatial information. Policies and customized services utilizing this platform have been developed, and it is expected to contribute particularly to the realization of future-oriented smart cities.
Moreover, Saltlux has extensive experience and know-how in projects targeting administrative and public institutions, such as the 'National Archives Semantic Search Construction Project' which enhanced the usability of national records by building a semantic search system based on meaning, and the 'Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Intelligent Crime Analysis and Prediction System Project,' which derived hidden implications from crime-related data and established a crime prevention collaboration system.
A Saltlux official stated, “As a leading company in the fields of artificial intelligence and big data that has continuously honed its capabilities, Saltlux can be the best partner in realizing the vision of the ‘world’s best digital platform government.’ We will do our utmost to help South Korea stand tall as a high-tech powerhouse suited for the 4th Industrial Revolution era.”
