U+ Mobile TV, Localized Election Broadcast Relay

An LG Uplus model is introducing LG HelloVision's election broadcast content provided through U+ Mobile TV.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] LG Uplus announced on the 26th that it will broadcast local election coverage through its mobile video platform Uplus (U+) Mobile TV ahead of the nationwide local elections on the 1st of next month.

LG Uplus prepared the election broadcast as part of its 'Customer Experience Innovation' initiative to provide tailored election information to customers living in various regions, offering a new experience. The U+ Mobile TV election broadcast is meaningful in that it delivers information within customers' residential areas, such as basic local government heads and council members at the district and county levels, which are not covered by existing broadcasters.

LG Uplus procured content from LG HelloVision, which provides region-based media services. The local election content provided by U+ Mobile TV includes 'Election Radar,' which introduces pledges in detail through anchors and interviews with candidates from each region, and 'Feature Reports,' which analyze electoral districts and competitive dynamics by region.

LG Uplus also provides real-time election result broadcasts on eight regional channels. U+ Mobile TV users can select regions such as the metropolitan area, Busan, Gangwon, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, and Chungnam from the real-time channel menu on election day, and watch the election result broadcasts of their desired region via real-time streaming. The live election result broadcasts will be available until the counting is completed, and plans include connecting to counting centers and battleground candidate camps to convey the on-site atmosphere.
