[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Homeshopping will publicly recruit new show hosts from the 30th of this month until the 7th of next month.
According to Lotte Homeshopping on the 26th, this recruitment is being conducted to discover fresh and capable media commerce-type talents to respond to the rapidly changing live commerce environment. Selection will be based on individual capabilities and job suitability evaluations regardless of age, education, or major. In fact, last year, applicants with diverse backgrounds such as former idol girl group members and aquarists were selected.
This year, the communication competency assessment will be strengthened based on expressiveness, originality, and product expertise. Additionally, the customer participation evaluation method, which was first introduced last year and received great response with 20,000 customer votes, will be applied again this year. This evaluation method awards additional points to applicants based on the number of 'likes' customers give after watching each applicant’s presentation video. The final selected candidates will be trained as broadcasting experts capable of working across all channels including live commerce, TV home shopping, and T-commerce.
Applications can be submitted through the ‘Applicant Helper’ page on the official Lotte Homeshopping website, and evaluations will be conducted in four stages over approximately two months. Applicants’ capabilities will be assessed from multiple angles through evaluations of the submitted ‘self-introduction and product PT’ videos, as well as camera, audio, and practical tests. Afterwards, candidates will undergo basic training including voice coaching and one-on-one mentoring with show hosts, followed by broadcasting tests and an internship process based on customer participation evaluations to select the final successful applicants.
Shin Sungbin, Head of Marketing at Lotte Homeshopping, said, “We are conducting public recruitment for new show hosts for the second consecutive year to respond to the rapidly growing live commerce market,” and added, “Through various evaluation methods such as expressiveness and communication skills, we plan to discover talents who can earn customers’ trust and nurture them into capable broadcasting experts.”
